Our Neighborhood’s Favorite Non-Candy Halloween Ideas for Trick or Treaters
You don’t have to hand out treats to participate in the fall holiday so let your neighborhood kids get excited with these non-candy halloween ideas! I have NEVER handed out candy on Halloween but we are definitely one the neighborhood’s favorite stops.
With a little creativity, we make sure the local kids can have an alternative to candy without missing out on any of the Halloween fun.
Why choose non-candy Halloween ideas?
There are many valid reasons to look into non-candy halloween treats this season.
Personally, I do not allow my child to eat candy so to hand it out to other children seems hypocritical.
We love finding new items to give instead that get children even more excited than receiving candy.
Another great reason to look into non-candy halloween ideas is food allergies.
Halloween can be a difficult day for children that deal with food allergies preventing them from enjoying some or even most candies
This year we decided to participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project.
Teal Pumpkin Project
The Teal Pumpkin Project makes the holiday inclusive to children with food allergies by ensuring the home is providing non-candy halloween treats as well.
It’s an easy way to announce you are offering non-candy treats without contacting everyone in the neighborhood.
We placed ours by the front porch, but can be anywhere on your front yard.
